January is a month most people dread but it’s a month where we, as photographers, begin to catch our breath after a crazy season of wedding madness! We have spent the last couple of weeks looking back over 2017’s weddings and shoots, reminding us what an incredible year it has been, in fact it definitely is one of our favourites. The highlight of the year had to be going back to New York City where we got engaged 9 years ago and getting to shoot a wedding there, which was always a dream! We also had the added bonus of doing a sunrise couples shoot on Brooklyn Bridge which turned into a live surprise engagement.
Another place that had long been on our list of countries to visit was Italy, where this year we had the opportunity to shoot two contrasting weddings, one in the Tuscan landscape of Siena and the other in the beautiful city of Florence.
We shot three further weddings in England, one Yorkshire, one in Shropshire and one in Cambridge, not forgetting all the incredible venues dotted around Ireland. We’ve met so many new vendors and also strengthened friendships but most of all we’ve built new friendships with this years wedding couples. 2017 has been a year where we’ve been given the most trust and creative freedom to shoot and push our boundaries and we are so thankfully to our couples for this.
As we begin 2018 and are enjoying some much needed recoup time, we look at our diary and are excited to see what this year will bring, where the adventures will lead, the stories that will unfold and the moments that will be captured. For now, here are some of our favourite stills from 2017… enjoy 🙂
